Aptieka1

aptieka 1
is a leading pharmacy association in Latvia, which unites big and small pharmacies both in Riga and other cities of Latvia.  In 2010 we look back on our activities for the seventh year. Seven years ago – in 2004 when the association was founded, its name was Tamro Aptieku programma, and it unified the marketing activities of tens of pharmacies. These seven years aptieka 1 has become a recognizable visitors and manufacturers of essential medicines pharmacy association.

The idea of the motto of the association – Healthy Advice – is to give necessary support and consultations to customers, directing their attention not only to treatment but also to preventive measures Therefore pharmacy assortment includes a wide range of medical and healthcare products.

As of April 1, 2008 pharmacies of the association aptieka 1 present special offer baskets. There the customers can find topical seasonal products for very attractive prices.

CREATIVE, BENEFICIAL, FRUITFUL

The "Tamro Pharmacy Program" is a creative dialog between the producer and the wholesaler, a mutually beneficial dialog between the wholesaler and the pharmacy, and a fruitful dialog between the pharmacist and the pharmacy customer.

During preliminary work for the accession to the European Union, in Latvia arose a necessity to take measures for the improvement of pharmaceutical care, to stimulate the competitive capacity among pharmacies, and to provide the accessibility to pharmaceutical services in rural and urban pharmacies. Therefore, the project “Tamro Pharmacy Programme” was lunched in 2003, now uniting over 200 pharmacies in Riga, Liepāja, Ventspils, Jelgava, Aizkraukle, Rēzekne and other places in Latvia.

“Tamro Pharmacy Programme”(TPP) continues to grow and develop.

Year 2005 has also been extremely hectic and eventful for the TPP – the number of programme members has grown, new co-operation agreements have been concluded with producers, which has resulted in substantial improvement of financial performance of the pharmacies, producers and Tamro. Currently TPP pharmacies control approximately 27% of the medication retail market.

Alongside other activities, measures are taken to arrange a more unified marketing environment in order to meet our commitment towards producers.

Due to regular sales promotions most of the pharmacies had an increase in turnover last year; the growth was higher than the average reading for the whole market, which has given these pharmacies a beneficial position in an ever growing competition.

Managers and employees of all TPP pharmacies deserve the deepest gratitude for their loyalty towards Tamro and willingness to participate in the “Tamro Pharmacy Programme”. On most occasions no one else but the pharmacists are the ones who know best, which suggestions and wishes outlined by producers can be put into practice and which not. Therefore, the Collaboration Council, a body functioning from day one within “Tamro Pharmacy Programme”, plays an important role. The Council consists of ten members – representatives of pharmacies. In regular meetings various proposals are being discussed, new information obtained and decisions taken regarding further common activities. Some people find the Council too democratic an institution. However, it is only the Council’s attempt to learn all opinions and take them into consideration, because their efficiency can be proven in action rather than in theory.

Various sales promotion methods are used to inform consumers about our special offers – designated shelves for sales products, A4 size info-stands, large format posters for display within the pharmacy, as well as our newest method of communication – our supplement in the “Mājas Viesis” section of the “Latvijas Avīze” newspaper.

"A great response with real gains!" – that is what our "Tamro Pharmacy Program" pharmacists say about the subscribers discount card from "Latvijas Avīze". According to statistics gathered by "Latvijas Avīze" employees, 76 000 newspaper subscribers received the discount card, but only 52% of them use the card and are satisfied with it. The great response and the positive results have given motivation to continue the well begun collaboration also in 2006. Since only the subscribers of “Latvijas Avīze” can receive the “Latvijas Avīze” discount card, TPP pharmacies plan to introduce their own discount card in 2006 following recommendations given by the Collaboration Council. This would be a loyalty card available to all regular TPP pharmacy customers.

Since the start of the "Tamro Pharmacy Program" participating pharmacies have been able to increase their competitive advantage. This has been accomplished through special sales offers and the "Latvijas Avīzes" discount card offers, but we are especially excited about the strong positive response to our charity campaign "Dāvā sapni!" that was organised together with the Swiss pharmaceutical company Mepha. This charity campaign was the first of its kind for Latvian pharmacies and great results we have been able to achieve are a real motivator to continue what we have started and to look for new opportunities. Thanks to all the good people, who have shown their support during the campaign!

Fortunately, life is not about work only. TPP pays great attention also to activities outside working hours, visiting colleagues in Sweden and Slovenia, where along with leisure activities pharmacies, wholesale markets and medication production sites are being visited with a view to gain more experience in how pharmacy is being run in other countries in Europe. TPP employees also find time for relaxing together – during the summer it is done in the open air outside Riga, and in Riga – during winter time.

In the New Year we wish a lot of joyful and satisfied customers to all pharmacists! May there be no shortage of the necessary medicine, which Tamro will do its best to deliver in due time.

FOR YOUR INFORMATION

The pharmaceutical wholesaler Tamro began its new project, the “Tamro Pharmacy Programme”, at the end of 2003 together with many respected pharmacies in Latvia. The goal of the project was to maximise synergetic co-operation between Tamro and its loyal partners. This programme is oriented towards the pharmacy and the consumer, activating co-operative resources throughout the entire supply chain: producer – wholesaler – pharmacy – consumer.

TPP pharmacies are able to increase their competitive advantage through:

  • participation in regular sales campaigns that facilitate the growth of sales;
  • employee training programs and pharmacy computerisation;
  • new insights gained in exchange programs;
  • receiving tailor-made service and guaranteed discounts.

Pharmacy consumers can receive:

  • a wide range of medicine and medical products;
  • advice of qualified pharmacists;
  • professional service;
  • better prices.

An important part of the ”Tamro Pharmacy Programme” is brand recognition. To encourage this, each pharmacy receives a special “Tamro Pharmacy Programme” sign for display.

Currently TPP visual identity is being improved. It is a difficult and time consuming step, therefore results will be seen only in the course of a few months, and pharmacies will be then introduced to them.

This year pharmacies participating in the “Tamro Pharmacy Programme” will continue to offer various services and widen their range by introducing prepaid cards, cards for particular categories of customers, express services for blood pressure diagnosis, weight control, sugar and fat level measurements in the body, as well as other services for the convenience to customers.
